Refurbishment Works Progressing at Stoke Mandeville Hospital

During the past year, our team at Afit Commercial have been working on an exciting refurbishment project at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, managed by Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The project has been focusing on external and internal works, which have included the following:

Ward Conversion to Specialised Units: Converting hospital wards into specialised healthcare units (for example, transforming general wards into ICUs or recovery units) enhances the overall patient experience. It enables more effective communication and provides care environments tailored to patients’ specific needs, ultimately supporting better outcomes.
External Lighting Repairs: All external lighting has been upgraded and designed to align with the hospital’s daily operations. These improvements enhance safety and visibility while ensuring minimal disruption to staff, patients, and visitors.
Corridor Enhancements: Several hospital corridors have been fully refurbished to improve the patient experience. The introduction of colour-coded walls and themed design elements supports easier navigation throughout the hospital. In addition, these enhancements create a more welcoming and reassuring environment for visitors.
WC Facility Refurbishment: The team also refurbished a number of existing WCs across the Buckinghamshire hospital. These upgrades ensure modern, easy-to-clean surfaces that support the highest standards of hygiene, while also improving comfort and usability for patients, staff, and visitors.
